The prodigy of hensachi 15 academy
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! We all do, but first, I need to figure out what's going on with my abilities. The longer I stay here, the more I can see that things are beginning to shift.Ī change is coming, and I need to be prepared for whatever comes my way. If something were to happen now when the academy is vulnerable, I wouldn’t stand a chance…and that’s just the thing. Even at my strongest, I was too weak to win on my own. Things are changing, and I’d feel a lot better about it if my powers were back in commission. I feel a lot of things, but none of them are remotely heroic. Hoover said that everything’s fine, but for some reason, it hurts to channel my energy, and when I summon my flames, they're barely an ember.Įveryone thinks I’m a hero because of what I did to stop that attack, but I don’t feel like it. I barely escaped with my life, and I was happy that it was over, but something’s been different since the attack.Īfter I recovered, I noticed that my powers are no longer working like they should.ĭr. Dozens were hurt, myself included, but with the help of my friends, I was able to put an end to the chaos.

I received this as an ARC, and give this review in my own words and of my own volition.more Well Done, Alex Villavasso! Well Done Indeed! This is a story that's going to continue for a long time to come, and I can't wait for more! So, if you haven't read Aiden Cross: The Loner, do it now so you can read Prodigy. Between students or others, really doesn't matter because they are exciting, eventful, graphic and imaginative, which is everything I like in a good battle And Alex can really put together a great battle scene! I had so much fun reading those. I absolutely love a good battle between superpowers. The battles, though, now those are the best parts to me. The method of helping Aiden is very different as well. So he gets someone to help him that is a bit off from the rest of the teachers. It isn't something he can solve and fix on his own. He has some residual issues from his fight with Von in book 1, leaving him with a touch of PTSD among other things. And it's done with no angst! That's an achievement all in itself!Īiden has his own issues in this book. I love watching characters go through growing pains. You'll also see the kids themselves growing up as they gain more in their powers. It's such fun to watch them power up, battle it out, and even collapse from exhaustion. You'll see things like throwing fire, creating ice out of the moisture in the air and shaping it into daggers and swords, you'll see super strength, super endurance, mastery of electricity, and all kinds of things that are so different from the usual UF world. And their powers alone let you know how different this is going to be. Now we get to see more training of the kids (I call them kids, but they're in their early 20s) in the use of their powers. Now, in book 2, it's carried even further. I happen to really like this type of book so this was a very pleasant surprise. But I wasn't truly prepared for the likeness to LitRPG superhero type books.

I wasn't expecting it to be quite like the other typical Academy type series because I got the general idea from The Loner (book 1) that this was going to be different.
